Hydrocarbons

The Hydrocarbons Department performs the analyses that are essential to LUFT (Leaking Underground Fuel Tank) and other monitoring that is concerned with petroleum product contaminants in air, water and solid matrices. Most of these analyses are performed by Gas Chromatography an exception being EPA 418.1 (Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons) which is performed in the Wet Chemistry Department using Infrared Spectroscopy. All of our GC's in this department are equipped with Archon™ autosamplers which adhere to the closed sampling and Encore™ requirements specified in EPA 5035.
